WTK: Current Value Of A Vintage Numrich Arms Catalog

Recommended Posts

I was digging around in my 'stuff' yesterday and came upon two Vintage Numrich catalogs. Both are No. 3 dated April 1st, 1973 and both nice, but one has my name and address (at the time) and the other is addressed to somone else local to the Twin Cities.

I'm thinking I'll get rid of one, but really have no idea what these are going for nowadays as you just don't see them around anymore.

Check out the pics: http://tinypic.com/a/2pa2c/2

(Inside the middle is also an original order form!)

It has George Numrich and Ira Trast on the back, including the original tape on three sides (not peeled back like most you see, along with parts of the cover that come off with the tape)....this is one of the nicest I've seen with one exception....the former owner wrote "Numrich Gun Parts" on the spine in ink, near the top staple....otherwise yellowed, but flawless.

Now the fun stuff.......

The Thompsons are there, accessories, and such with positively "Drooleriffic" prices - check out the price on the cleaning kit box, folks!! it's available for just 10 bucks full of original kit parts! And also included are NoBuckl slings at $1.25 each!

AND that Reising for 125 clams.......how many do you want?? ;)

If I only had a time machine........

Anyway, anyone have a decent idea of the going price on these, please let me know. I certainly don't need two of them and would just as soon keep my original.

Thanks.

If you don't mind , just for the Halibut , :>) , does that catalog list M1 Garand clips in a couple of drum size containers ( 1200 ( small ) and ? ( large ) ) . I could have sworn that's where we bought ours , but I now only go back to number 12 , and we don't see them anywhere. I recall a $125 price tag.

This one shows Garand clips (8 round) at $2.50 per dozen. Carbine mags (15 rd) are 2 bucks each new in wrap, and (drumroll..........)

Thompson 20 rd - 3 bucks

Thompson 30 rd - 2 bucks

Thompson 50 rd drums - $19.95 each (not sure when the West Hurley drums went into production....these might be USGI surplus?

It shows complete Thompsons for $325.00 (1921/1928) add $25 for compensator

M1 and M1A1 models atlso at $325.00 each. looks like a lot of the US web gear ahve the same prices as i the catalogs from the thirties......

As for the guess on the value of this catalog, I have no idea as I've never seen one like it for sale but I'm sure they are out there (I have two of them!)

$125 seems high for something this recent......Anyone?

John,

The No. 3. April 1, 1973 Numrich Arms Catalog (NAC) is fairly common. I have seen them priced from $4.00 on up, usually between $8 and $10. There is one on ebay right now in a $10 buy-it-now auction.

Prior to the No. 3 catalog there was a No. 2, March 1, 1972 NAC catalog. After the No. 3 was the No. 4 catalog with two known (by me) cover variations. I have never seen a NAC No. 1 catalog. Does anyone have one?

I believe these early NAC catalogs will become very collectible some day. I suggest getting one or two while the prices are low. They are interesting reading from a company that was very much involved in the history of the Tommy Gun.

Thanks TD...I didn't figure it as being worth a fortune but it is a nice one and has a plethora of valuable information not only about Thompsons, but many other models.

Tom,

I have one. It's No. 1, December 1971. I thought you had seen it. I'll bring it with me to OGCA this weekend. Looks pretty much the same as the #2 and #3 Catalogs.
