cocoabill
I am messing around with some cut receivers I have for a display and found something that doesn't match the drawing so I am asking any experts out there. The 1928A1 drawing shows 1.25 inches from the inside back edge of the receiver to the end of the rail. I have one that looks like 1.25 and another that is closer to 1.6 inches. They are both 1928A1's (I think), so does anyone know if there was a drawing change? ThanksBill
cocoabill
Found my answer should have thoght of it, the 1.6 inch is an m1. Not sure why they made the change but it must not be a critical demension. ThanksBill
emmagee1917
No longer used the felt oiler assmly. , ergo no need to make the pocket cut to install it , therefore no need to mill the rails " short " to have the pocket there .Chris
reconbob
Not all M1928A1's had the same machining at the back of the receiver. Here are 2 pieces ofcut receivers and you can clearly see the difference - this has nothing to do with M1928A1 vs. M1.There are many discrepancies between the drawings most of us have and what you see in real life.I have mentioned before about the somewhat dramatic difference in the radius of the corner roundson different receivers. The drawing you posted looks to me to be a cut-and-paste job - copying the original drawing ontoa different sheet and adding an incorrect title block and embellishing with "CONFIDENTIAL" and"RESTRICTED MATERIAL" to no doubt enhance any "original" claim....
